London Hen Party Idea, Dinner and Vintage-Inspired Cocktails.
The Bull & Gate, 389 Kentish Town Road, Kentish Town, London, NW5 2TJ
The Bull and Gate is a stone’s throw from our Glam Hatters’ Kentish Town venue so the perfect place to head to after you have completed a fascinator making workshop with us. They have a cocktail bar upstairs called The Boulogne Bar, it is sumptuous, fun, giggly and has some very, very nice hipster guys working the bar! They also have a piano player playing a baby grand piano who will take requests for your Bride-to-be’s favourite song.
As well as the upstairs cocktail bar there is also a large dining room downstairs. It is gorgeously decorated and the food is to die for. If you prefer to sit at a table while you eat then this is the one for you. The staff are warm and friendly with just the right amount of attention to your party.
However I have been in the cocktail bar upstairs when a hen party is going on and would strongly recommend having food upstairs. If you’ve already had afternoon tea and fizz all afternoon do you really want to sit and have a full meal after all of that? I think not ladies! As one hen recently put it, “You have to keep a steady buzz on!”
Having a full dinner may leave you a little sleepy and at this stage you don’t want to start hitting the coffee (where do you go from there?!) or start falling asleep at the table. Light bites is the way to go and The Bull and Gate serve up some beautiful boards. Check out their website for the menu, it’s mouth watering. They will also work with you to create bespoke drinks and canape packages.
But my very favourite thing about The Bull and Gate cocktail lounge is the cocktails! These mixologists take their vintage-inspired cocktail making seriously and are very happy to tell you all about the ingredients. Sit at the bar and it is like being at a show. They’ll even give you little glasses of things to try out. On a recent trip there I was converted from my favourite Bombay Sapphire gin to a locally brewed gin called Half Hitch.
Here are the cocktails that Mr G and I tried out (and loved) last time we were at The Bull and Gate. Mr G had The Duke so of course I had to try The Duchess – it was that or The Dragon! I 100% recommend these cocktails and they definitely do the job. Happy partying ladies. xxx
The Hen Party Activity, Glam Hatters’ Fascinator Making.
The perfect preamble to your visit to The Bull and Gate is a fascinator making workshop. Not only will you enjoy a couple of hours of making, eating and drinking fizz with your friends but you’ll also have a fabulous hat to wear to the night’s proceedings. Ensuring you and your party stand out in a stylish way whilst listening to the piano and singing to your favourite songs!
The Bull and gate’s cocktail bar has a very Vintage feel to it (they have wardrobes full of vintage clothes and hats displayed on the stairs) so choose between The Luxury Vintage Inspired Fascinator at £50 pp or the Vintage Inspired Veiled Fascinator at £45 pp
To help manage your hen party budget choose either a Glam hatters Full Afternoon Tea at £12.50 pp or go for a Glam hatters Mini Cream Tea at £6.50 pp. Both are great value and ensure everyone keeps their steady fizzy buzz going with out being tipped over the edge too early in the day!!
Whichever Glam Hatter package you go for the Glam hatter Girls will ensure you make a gorgeous headpiece and that you finish it! Then they’ll help you pop it on and style it so you can take a short walk around the corner to The Bull and Gate for your cocktails.
I hope you like these hen party ideas and if you have any hen party secrets, tips or ideas please leave a comment. I’d love to hear from you.
